1741 on the Terrace

A recent recipient of the Award of Excellence by WINE SPECTATOR magazine for their inspiring wine menu, 1741 on the Terrace is a fantastic choice to dine if you'd like to also be inspired by the lovely high ceilings and history of charming downtown Bethlehem.





Andre's Restuarant and Wine Boutique

The premier restaurant in Sussex County, chef Andre deWaal has received an "Excellent" rating by the New York Times and 3 1/2 Stars from the Star Ledger among many other recognitions for his namesake restaurant.





Antelao

A boutique restaurant located in the picturesque and charming town of Delaware Water Gap, Antelao is lovingly run by Chef/Owners Michael and Elvi DeLotto. Michael prepares the meals in the kitchen, while his wife and partner, Elvi, describes all of the evening's specials in great detail with a sparkle in her eye.





Bar Louis

Buckwood Bistro

Who knew that on this back road there could be this type of playful sophistication coming out of the kitchen? A family owned and operated establishment, Buckwood Bistro has some serious French street credibility-- house-made charcuterie, escargot and of course the accent.





Cakes & Scones Bakery

All-natural, made-from-scratch baked goods, Cakes & Scones Bakery serves up scrumptious delights with quality ingredients. Pastry Chef/Owner, Tere de Melo even whips up her own special lemon curd to finish-off one of her signature light summer cakes. Children begin their addiction to C & S when their mothers hand them one of Tere's lovely scones to gnaw on at the farmers

Trust us, walk down the alley that leads away from all of the shops catering to the tourists towards the river and give C'est La Vie French Bakery & Cafe a try. Priding themselves on authentic French confections, we'd have to agree that there are only a few places in the whole region that even know what a Religieuse is, let alone execute



Delmonico Room

Located in the airy and formal dining room at the Hotel Fauchere with a menu taking pride in serving up delicious old school fare prepared with local ingredients and imagination. Lobster Newburg with Cognac Froth and Pennsylvania Organic Amish Chicken accompanied with truffle studded lobster mushrooms, cepes and fresh dug fingerlings, wild thyme and local garlic essence.

Emeril's Chop House

Emeril Lagasse's only restaurant in the Northeast. Primarily a steakhouse with southern influences, the Chophouse is scouring the region to source as much as they can locally--chicken, various veggies and desserts--and regionally some superb seafood--scallops, oysters, lobsters.





Farm House Restaurant

Dine in a 19th century farmhouse and depending on the size of your party, be seated in one of six sparsely decorated rooms. Giacomo's on the Hill Deli

Here's a neighborhood gem that everyone who enjoys a good bite knows about. Toward the back of the shop, past all of the imported specialty items, is a deli counter with delicious cheeses, marinated olives, half-prepared meals to go and smells wafting from the grill at the back wall.





Glasbern Restaurant

You want farm-to table? How about having your table on the farm? The Glasbern Country Inn is a historic working farm that also has a restaurant and B&B. Their local and seasonal menu features eggs, fruits, veggies and pasture raised meats from the property.





Gourmet Gallery

Home of mouth-watering lunch fare. Gourmet Gallery displays a number of original and healthy salads (grains, legumes, broccoli etc.) at their front case alongside some very tempting and naughty homemade desserts.





Grille 3501

Voted best Overall Restaurant in the Lehigh Valley by Lehigh Valley Style and Lehigh Valley Magazines, Grille 3501 has a unique blend of Asian, Mediterranean and French cuisine that works.





Hampton Winds

This might be the best kept frugal gourmet's secret in the Delaware River region. Hampton Winds is the restaurant associated with the Culinary Arts program at Northampton Community College.





Komé

A good option for stylish sushi and cocktails is Komé--a beautiful new restaurant in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. Hibachi too, if you must.

Kreative Kuisine, Inc.

Update: Kreative Kuisine is no longer a stand alone restaurant. They do, however, supply daily soups to The Coffee Rush (1995 Milford Rd on Route 209 East Stroudsburg), and bulk soup orders can be made directly from Donald McGill.





Liquid

Stroudsburg's trendiest place just opened up on Main Street serving martinis and tapas. Chef Jonathan Harding (formerly at Cherry Valley Bistro) has come in to his own in this new environment where he can explore his many interests with a menu that demands creativity.





Melt

Located in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, which is more about lifestyle than any particular store, Melt is the pinnacle of good taste that shoppers and diners aspire to.





Moya

Concentrating on local and seasonal cuisine, chef Heriberto Yunda serves up such specialties as "Pork Tenderloin with Prunes, Roasted Shallots and Port Wine" along side a "Salmon cooked with Shallots, Ginger and a Sweet Soy Sauce". Homemade Gnocchi graces the fall/winter menu for those who have a weakness declining when given the opportunity to order it.

Ocean is the place to go to if you want modern design, a post-modern menu and a great martini list.

Nuevo Latino bites created by cookbook author and chef, Rafael Palomino are artfully presented at this restaurant in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. With décor reminiscent of modern Miami, Pacifico offers delicious tapas and inspired cocktails that just taste better when enjoyed with a group.





Perk Coffee Shop

Locals all seem to know about Perk Coffee Shop's superiorly roasted beans, which you can enjoy as an espresso shot, French Pressed, brewed over ice or conveniently packaged to-go uncut.





Quench Juice & Smoothie Bar

Update: Due to a fire on the "Quench Block" in downtown Stroudsburg, Quench has moved it's Delicious HQ into the 4 Corners Wellness Center in East Stroudsburg. Hospital employees and University students rejoice!





Saen Thai

People drive from all over and don't mind waiting in line to enjoy an authentic meal at this affordable Foodie institution. Great service, wonderful atmosphere and most importantly fantastic flavors! If you like Thai food, you really can't go wrong here. If you're feeling up to it, ask for the Boon (owner) to choose your meal for you. Saen Thai has a selection of appropriate wines,

Salt is the trend setting flavor packed eatery in an unexpected place, concentrating on quality comfort foods made from scratch and very special beers.





Savory Grille

Located in the Seisholtzville Hotel, the Savory Grille is run by a husband and wife team. The contemporary American menu changes daily and is inspired by the gardens that surround the grounds.



Sette Luna

Authentic Italian flavors come out of this kitchen and wood fired stove at Sette Luna. Pastas are all house made, and it makes all the difference. Pizzas with fantastic crusts and savory flavors come out of their centrally located wood fired oven. Try Josh's Pizza (a white pizza with pancetta, Parmesano Reggiano and a couple eggs) for our favorite way to have bacon and eggs.



Settler's Inn

Chef Grant Genzlinger works religiously with local farmers and purveyors to create his tasty dishes. Pennsylvania Charcuterie Plate, House Smoked Blooming Grove Brook Trout and Crepes Filled with Forks Farm Slow Roasted Chicken and Ricotta are just a few of the dishes that make diners feel that every morsel of their meal is to be treasured. The staff is knowledgeable about



South Mountain Cycles & Coffee Bar

We've never in our lives overheard the barista at an espresso counter detailing the costs for a complicated bike repair as he masterfully assembled that same bike owner's coffee libation--that is until we had the pleasure of stepping into the hybrid world at South Mountain Cycles & Coffee Bar in Emmaus.





Sweet Creams Café

Located on lower Main Street in downtown Stroudsburg, Sweet Creams is a sweet little parlor that makes all of their own premium ice creams in house. Flavors change with the season. Special concoction of note is the Peanut Butter Cup Sundae, which has homemade chocolate ice cream, chunky peanut butter and hot fudge. Their lunch and dinner menus features lighter fare that women tend

If you find yourself on the most charming street in the historic part of South Bethlehem, make sure to stop into this family owned and operated chocolate shop.





Tap and Table

An old world style gourmet gastro pub where the lighting is all by candle, the food is seasonal & local and the beer is draft and cask. Okay, they have 150+ bottles of every fine ale and lager you can think of too. Talk about atmostphere.





Thai Thai II

A popular eatery on Main Street in Bethlehem that serves up some of the best Thai food in the Lehigh Valley for the white table cloth-seeking crowd. Giving diners the option of how spicy they would like their dishes, Thai Thai II is a BYOB.



The Bookstore Speakeasy

Old fashioned cocktails the way they were always meant to be. Experience the thrill of 1920's Prohibition when you walk through a bookstore facade into an elegant speakeasy where the ice is hand chiseled, egg froth is used and the bartender is no stranger to a good bitters. Recipient of the 2008 PETA Proggy Award for the Best Vegan Bakery, Vegan Treats Bakery in Bethlehem has a loyal following of vegans, vegetarians and carnivores.





Walpack Inn

Known for their hearty hearth bread, beautiful grounds and for feeding the deer right outside the dining room window, The Walpack Inn also has one of the coolest collections of stuffed animals (as in taxidermy) on display throughout the restaurant.
